What we have been up to this month…

This December we have been really busy doing Christmas themed activities!

At the beginning of the month we had the first bit of snow for the winter season so we headed straight out to play in the snow! The little ones were making marks in the snow, running and then looking at their footprints and they also learnt a little about doing their own risk assessments by understanding that snow can be slippy so they have to be careful when walking!

We had lots of Christmas arts and crafts, we started the month off with some card making, we then made reindeer feet pictures, Santa hand prints and also made some Santa’s with paint and cotton balls!

We also had some sensory activities this month, including Christmas coloured rice and making our own christmassy play dough. The little ones seemed to really enjoy these activities and were really busy and got involved in these activities!

See pictures below of some of the activities we have been doing this December!

Thank you doesn’t even begin to show my gratitude for all that you have done to help settle J into childcare. Your help and love has been a life saver for us who have no family to help here. So thank you! J has now settled really well and has already thrived and grown so much. Thank you for your love and patience with J.

Day in the life of Sally…

This December we want to share another ‘Day in the Life’ with everyone! This month we are sharing Sally’s day!

I get my two girls ready in the morning, drop one off at nursery then head into crèche with Luna. We help set up the room and plan the day.

On Wednesdays I get to use my creativity to plan a messy play or sensory session with the children which I love as it really helps me bond with them and see their individual personalities shine.

I help with nappies, snacks and nap times and love taking the children out for walks to explore the local area.

The day goes by so quickly and at the end of the day I help get the children ready to go home.

Favourite part: I love planning activities to engage the children and spend quality time with them, but also enjoy observing their independent play and seeing their imaginations run wild.

After work I get home to make dinner for my family and enjoy playing and reading stories before they go to bed.

Aside from spending time with my family, I’m currently studying a part time HNC Childhood qualification and whenever I have some free time I enjoy seeing friends.

Thank you for taking the time to read this months news! We hope you enjoy reading about what we have been doing at RLO and hope the advice is helpful! If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch! We look forward to seeing you soon!
