February at Raising Little Ones…
Another busy month at RLO has flown by! This February we have been looking at different books as our weekly themes. These included: We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Gruffalo, Stick Man and Elmer the Elephant! All these books have different underlying messages, so we really enjoyed exploring these books and having discussions about them with the little ones!

Information you need to know….
“RLO have literally saved my life! They are THE MOST PATIENT and LOVELY humans to my little one. Rebecca was so accommodating when my wee man wouldn’t settle. After following her advice, he’s now one happy little chap going to nursery and playing with his friends. Needless to say, Rebecca and her staff provide a service that is much needed for those parents (like me!!) who have no family help locally and have missed out on a place for nursery whilst I needed to go back to work. RLO allows me to do that with more flexible hours if I needed. All the staff are lovely but a big shout out to Emma my little man’s favourite! She has the patience of a saint and is so so loving towards my son which is so lovely to see! I feel happy and content leaving my son at RLO when I pick him up with a huge smile on his face and excited to go in the morning. I love their daily activities for all ages and their motto for daily outdoor activities no matter the weather. ”
Day in the life of Emma…
This February we want to share another ‘Day in the Life’ with everyone! This month we are sharing Emma’s day!
I begin my day at RLO by helping to set up the room and getting all of the resources ready that we will need for the day. I then help to come up with a plan for the day where we decide who is going to go outside for a walk or play in the garden etc.
At 9:00am when the children start to arrive, I either greet them at the door and do the morning handover or help the little ones to take their shoes and jackets off ready to play. I enjoy doing arts and crafts with the little ones, so once everyone has arrived, I often head to the messy room with a group of children to do some messy activities!
Outside of RLO, I do after school nannying for two families which I really enjoy, as I am able to hear about their day at school and then we spend time together going for a walk or going to the park before heading home to get some tea! Other than this, I really enjoy spending time catching up with friends and family.
