AUGUST ROUND UP

Through the month of August, the children here at RLO have really enjoyed taking part in jigsaws.

Allowing a child to take part in a jigsaw helps children to work on fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, problem solving and cognitive skills. This has also helped the children at RLO to start learning about teamwork. This helps with sharing, turn taking and communication.

Responsive Planning - This is acknowleding childrens intrests through play and identifing room for improvement and development.

Every Friday all staff take part in a planning meeting to discuss the childrens interests from that week which then helps us plan the following weeks activites.

PLEASE let us know if there is anything your child is interested in or anything specifically you’d like us to work on with your little one.

We would love you to get to know our RLO team so scroll down to see a day in the life of…. ORLA our Room Leader.

08:30am - I arrive at work and get set up for the day. I prepare all the paperwork that is needed for that day and get it organised before the kids arrive.

09:00am - I oversee all children coming in in the morning and greet parents.

09:15am - This is when I start all the admin work that is due to be completed for the day.

10:00am - I pop into the playroom over snack time to say hi to our children and check to see if the staff need any help.

10:20am - I go back out and continue admin work.

11:15/11:30 - Its then time to cover meal times if needed and have a chat with the children while they enjoy their lunch.

12:00pm - The last two hours of my day are spent finishing of any tasks on my to do list and helping staff with all of the end of the day tasks.

14:00pm - I’ll take the time to say bye to children and parents.

14:30pm - I leave RLO and begin to nanny for Becca’s little ones. We often head out for the afternoon and take part in a fun activity before heading back home for dinner, bath and bed.

18:00pm - During the week I regularly work evenings babysitting for different families that I have built up lovely bonds with or head to the gym after nannying
